Manchester United are set to activate a £22m release clause in Leicester City midfielder N’Golo Kante’s contract, according to reports.
Jose Mourinho is reportedly keen on making the 25-year-old his second signing following the deal of Villarreal defender Eric Bailly.
Reports suggest his performances have caught the attention of Arsenal, Chelsea and French champions Paris Saint-Germain all keen to land his services this summer.
The Leicester midfielder has had a spectacular season in the Premier League earning him his place in Didier Deschamps’ French squad at Euro 2016.
He has proven he is capable at performing at the highest level with an impressive shift in France’s 2-1 victory over Romania and Mourinho is reportedly interested in injecting energy into United’s midfield as he plans his overhaul of the squad.
Kante was signed by the Foxes from French side Caen for just £5.6m last August, but has been arguable one of the best midfielders in the Premier League helping Claudio Ranieri’s side lift the title.
Leicester are finding it hard to keep their title-winners with Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez also linked with a move away but with a midfield overload at Old Trafford already it’s hard to see where Kante would fit in.
