Spain XI vs Czech Republic: De Gea; Juanfran, Ramos, Pique, Alba; Busquets; Silva, Cesc, Iniesta, Nolito; Morata.

David de Gea starts for Spain in their Euro 2016 opener against Czech Republic on Monday.

Having had another brilliant season for Manchester United, De Gea richly deserves his spot in that Spain team but there were still questions about whether Vicente del Bosque would remain loyal to Iker Casillas. Thankfully, he has chosen the man bang in form who is undoubtedly Spain’s best goalkeeper.

I hope this is the passing of the torch for De Gea. He is one of the best goalkeepers in the world and is undoubtedly Spain’s No.1. For him, it’s a major step in his career and one I questioned whether he would be achieved whilst being a Man United player.

He’s been United’s best player for the last three years, let’s see if he can replicate that form for Spain. Good luck Dave.
