Marouane Fellaini has always split opinion in the fanbase ever since he became a Red Devil and he did the same on Monday night playing for the Red Devils – Belgium.
Marc Wilmots has a real penchant for Fellaini. He seems to love him like Louis van Gaal did. Take a look at the substitutes against Italy – Fellaini stayed on while two other players were taken off.
It wasn’t because of a barnstorming performance either. There were some positives but equally so there were some mistakes which is so often the case with Fellaini. As for the fans, here’s what they thought of his performance:
@PeoplesPerson_ Poor. It's nice not to have to despair at him. No worse than most of his team mates though. Belgium were a shambles.

@PeoplesPerson_ not bad at all. Can't recall him doing much wrong. Can't fault him for that ball at the end. Origi should have headed it.

@PeoplesPerson_ not bad at all. Not great either. Then again.. No one in Belgium was. Is a player we'll need next season.

Personally, I thought Fellaini did alright in the first half but was lifeless in the second and by the end of the game became more of a hinderance than an asset to Belgium. Yet, Wilmots kept him on.
As is always the case with Fellaini, he needs to be used in the right position and add the right time. If Belgium do that, maybe we’ll see the best of Marouane.
