Video: Wayne Rooney’s passionate celebrations after England win

by Ben Topliss

There were some passionate scenes on Thursday as Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney screamed into the television camera during England’s celebrations following their last gasp win over Wales at Euro 2016.

England came from behind to win in Lens thanks to Jamie Vardy’s equaliser and Sturridge’s late winner.

Sturridge’s goal sparked wild celebrations from the England group, which even included assistant manager and Manchester United legend Gary Neville, and Rooney provided a moment of humour by grabbing the TV camera and letting the world know exactly what he thought about it:

Rooney put in another excellent display in central midfield for England, which will inevitably increase calls for him to change his position for good.

The 30-year-old dictated the tempo of the game, pulled off a number of good passes and generally led by example.

United have been linked with forwards Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Breel Embolo in recent weeks and all the signs are indicating that Jose Mourinho sees Rooney’s future in midfield. It remains to be seen how the situation will pan out but there is no doubt that Rooney is capable of succeeding in the role.
