Manchester City forward Kevin De Bruyne believes that Zlatan Ibrahimovic would be a good addition to the Premier League amid continued rumours linking the Swede with a move to Manchester United.
Ibrahimovic has been strongly linked with a switch to Man United for a number of weeks, with numerous rumours suggesting the deal is all but done and that only a medical is left to complete.
De Bruyne, whose Belgium side takes on Ibrahimovic and Sweden at Euro 2016 on Wednesday, backed the former Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan striker to be a success in England.
“I think it’s going to be good for him obviously,” De Bruyne said.
“He’s lived already in a couple of cities, so he will take care of himself. He’s a great addition, good for the league.”
Ibrahimovic, 34, is undoubtedly entering the twilight of his career but he has kept himself in excellent physical shape and there has been nothing to suggest that he is slowing down. In fact, he scored 50 goals for PSG during the 2015/16 campaign.
His capture would send a real statement of intent to the rest of the Premier League, particularly with United not being in the Champions League. But nothing is official yet and fans won’t be relaxed about the situation until Ibrahimovic has signed on the dotted line.
