Manchester United could bring Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba back to Old Trafford this summer, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
The Frenchman’s agent Mino Raiola has been very vocal in recent weeks and has allegedly built up a good relationship with the club after negotiating deals for Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
There will be a meeting on Monday between Raiola and Juventus’ management, and although the Italian club would like to keep hold of their prized asset, a deal could be possible if Man United or Real Madrid meet their world transfer record asking price.
Jose Mourinho is said to be eager on making Pogba’s signing at Old Trafford and could finally bring him back after his departure from the club on a free transfer four years ago.
He fell out with former manager Sir Alex Ferguson and went onto win four successive Serie A titles with Juventus, but money talks and he could be willing to work with new boss Mourinho.
His agent has been demanding a €25 million commission on top of the world record transfer fee, which is a major hurdle in Madrid’s negotiations, but United definitely don’t lack the funds and should look to close the deal as soon as possible.
The club could deliver Mourinho’s Portuguese principal target but will be looking to avoid a potential bidding war with the likes of Madird, Bacrelona, Chelsea or Paris St-Germain as it would push the price to an exorbitant level.
