Man United forward Jesse Lingard undergoes intense three day training course

Add Jesse Lingaard to the list of Manchester United players keen to get to work under Jose Mourinho as he posted a video to his Instagram account showing the work he has been doing this summer.

The English attacker has been on an intense three day training camp at Man United’s training ground Carrington to help him gain more muscle mass to his frame ahead of what will surely be a gruelling season with Man United.

Having missed out on a call-up to the England squad, Lingard has dedicated himself to being ready to go for training in the next couple of weeks. One of the complaints you might hear regarding Lingard is that he is not strong enough on the ball but based on this photo and the work he is doing, you can forget about such worries.

He really gained for the trust of Louis van Gaal last term, in a team that played unusually slow and patient football last year, Lingard turned into one of the highlights with his speed in transition from defence to attack and his willingness to run at defenders.

Considered third or fourth in the pecking order heading into the season behind Anthony Martial, Adnan Januzaj and Memphis Depay, Lingard was quick to leapfrog Januzaj and Depay on the list and slowly started to exert his control over the position. He is the kind of player that Mourinho likes to deploy on the wing with speed to counter-attack and a willingness to defend and get stuck in when out of possession.

The increased muscle will help him keep up the ball in that area and it will be exciting to see the attacker develop further at Old Trafford.
