Zlatan Ibrahimovic set for Man United medical and contract signing on Friday

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is set to have his Manchester United medical on Friday and an official announcement unveiling him is also expected on the same day.

The 34-year-old’s contract with Paris St Germain expires on 30 June 2016 so he will be free to sign one with Man United on 1 July 2017. That could explain why there has been no announcement until this time.

Pending his medical, we should get to see Ibrahimovic smiling and holding up his Man United shirt on Friday. Happy days.

Ibrahimovic looked in good shape at Euro 2016 and unless anything dramatic has happened in the last week or so then there should be no problems with his medical.

After three years of monotonous football under both David Moyes and Louis van Gaal, we’re now effectively guaranteed box office entertainment with Ibrahimovic and Jose Mourinho. If there is one thing next year isn’t going to be then that’s dull – whether or not it works out straight away is something different altogether but it certainly won’t be boring.

I’m excited to see what Ibrahimovic can do in the Premier League and the fact he’s going to do it wearing a United shirt is even better. Welcome to United, Zlatan.
