Manchester United players have paid tribute to Ryan Giggs on social media after the club legend announced he would be leaving to pursue his management career.

Giggs announced on Saturday he will be leaving the club after 29 years at Old Trafford, where he made United’s history with over 963 first-team appearances in all competitions.

The Welshman made his debut in 1991 and went onto become the club’s assistant manager under Louis van Gaal after the sacking of David Moyes.

He is the club’s most decorated player and judging the the reactions of the players, he will be missed at Old Trafford.

He’s won a countless amount of trophies at Man United and will always be a club legend, but his management move was the best option for him as he looked to pursue a career in management.

The Welshman is only at the start of his management career and will be looking to pick up some much needed experience before he sets his eyes on the hotseat at Old Trafford further down the line.

It’s good to see the players getting behind him and wishing them well, he was one of the last links to the Sir Alex Ferguson era and it’s sad to see him finally part ways with the club.
