New Manchester United signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic is delighted to work with Jose Mourinho once again at Old Trafford.
The Swede has finally arrived at Old Trafford after months of speculation and has signed a one-year contract with the option of a 12-month extension.
He insists the chance to play for United and be reunited with Mourinho, with who he he won the Serie A title during their only season together at Inter Milan was too good to turn down.
“I have great memories. The only regret I have with Jose is I had a short time with him, one season, but we won together and had a great time together and I learned a lot,” he said.
“I got to know him as a person not only as a coach. He’s a winner, I’m a winner and we both know what we want: wherever we go we win and we will win.
“I think it is a big challenge for me. Wherever I went I won and I am looking forward to this new adventure, a new chapter in my life.
“I don’t know how many players had the possibility to play in the competitions I have and at the same time be winning.
“I know my mentality and I come to win. I want to win but behind everything is hard work and that is what I come to do.”
He’s one of the biggest names in football and I can’t wait to see him working under Mourinho, he wrote in his autobiography he’d be “willing to kill” so we’re in for an exciting season at Old Trafford.
We’ve got two of the biggest egos in the game at Man United and the combination of Mourinho and Ibrahimovic will be perfect to rival Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.
United can’t offer Ibrahimovic Champions League football next season, but it’s clear the offer of working at the heart of Mourinho’s new United side was one he couldn’t pass by.
