Man United want Paul Pogba deal completed before Community Shield

by Sam Peoples

Manchester United are keen to complete the signing of Paul Pogba before the Community Shield clash with Leicester City on August 7.

Both The Telegraph and The Independent are reporting the same story and usually when that happens it is an indicator there has been a source with loose lips somewhere in Manchester.

Due to France progressing to the Euro 2016 final, they won’t finish their tournament football until July 12 and depending on the result there could be parties lasting for a whole week after that. So, it may well slow down any sort of negotiations which are in place.

However, once those pleasantries are out of the way it is a case of getting down to business. Looking at the timings, I very much doubt there is any chance United could sign Pogba before the pre-season tour begins in earnest on July 22 but there would still be just under a month before the Premier League begins and that has to be considered the most important date.

This Pogba story has certainly escalated within the last 24 hours. From a simple report by Gianluca di Marzio we are now discussing desired completion dates – if that doesn’t show you there is plenty of legs behind this story then I am not sure anything will.
