Ray Parlour has urged Manchester United to break the world record transfer fee and pay Paul Pogba’s £100m price tag.
Man United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has allegedly begun negotiations with Juventus last week to try and bring the 23-year-old back to Old Trafford.
Real Madrid have also shown a big interest in the Frenchman’s services and could ruin Jose Mourinho’s plans of signing Pogba this summer.
Speaking about a deal, Parlour insists Pogba’s fee will quickly be forgotten if he can help deliver the Premier league title.
“He’s a tremendous player, there’s no doubt about that, and he will deliver,” he said.
“Yes, £100m is a lot of money but he will be a real asset in that midfield area. Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a great signing, Henrikh Mkhitaryan is a great signing. It is going to be a real battle next season for the Premier League.
“It will be intriguing to see who gets who before the end of the window but certainly Pogba will be a great signing.
“People will look at that price tag but if he can deliver on a regular basis and win them the title then eveyone will forget that £100m very quickly. He would be brilliant for Manchester United.”
Pogba would be an incredible signing for Man United should the club reach a deal with Juventus before Madrid can lure him to the Bernabeu.
Mourinho has signalled his intent to build a world-class squad capable of winning titles and Pogba could potentially join Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Eric Bailly at Old Trafford this summer.
The Frenchman would play a vital role on Mourinho’s side as the Portuguese boss aims to reclaim the Premier League crown with Man United.
