The 18-year-old had two remaining years on his current contract with Man United but has decided to move elsewhere as he feels he will get more opportunities away from United.
Speaking to Swansea’s official website about the move, Reid said: “I am really looking forward to a fresh challenge and getting started. I see a good opportunity to play first-team football with the Development squad here.
“I can’t wait to get started. I want to make my mark, secure a starting place for the Development squad, and help make an impact this season.”

Kenji Gorre is another United youngster who left our academy for Swansea in the past and Reid will be following in his footsteps.
Reid made 21 appearances for United’s U18s in the 2015/16 season and made his U21s debut in the final game of 2014/15, so he was going in the right direction. In terms of his development, everything was seemingly going on track but not every youngster is satisfied by the opportunities provided at United given the levels of competition and Reid falls into that category.
Having joined from Arsenal as a youngster, Reid has now left to join another Premier League club and we wish him all the best in the future.
