Luke Shaw completed his return for Manchester United after being out of action for over 300 days since he suffered a horror leg break against PSV Eindhoven.
The 20-year-old completed 45 minutes in his natural left-back position and immediately brought back the sort of assets he did at the start of last year.
He bombed forward whenever he could and linked up in parts with Memphis Depay. After nearly a year out, simply seeing him back in a Manchester United shirt was ace and a huge step forward for him:
The next step for Shaw is our pre-season tour of China. This is the biggest test for him in terms of his fitness but after a full year of working solely on his own personal shape, it shouldn’t be something that is too taxing for him.
Cameron Borthwick-Jackson, Marcos Rojo, Joe Riley and even Ashley Young tried to replace Shaw last season but they couldn’t. With him back in the team and running on all cylinders, it’s going to feel like a new signing.
