Paddy Crerand: Jose Mourinho isn’t done in the transfer market

Former Manchester United midfielder and MUTV pundit Paddy Crerand has insisted Jose Mourinho is not finished in the transfer market this summer.

The 53-year-old has already landed the signatures of Eric Bailly, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan this summer.

Mourinho noted in his first press conference he intends to make four “fundamental signings,” with that fourth likely to be Paul Pogba, who has reportedly agreed terms with Man United already.

Commentating on United’s 2-0 win over Wigan, Crerand said: “I just think we are going to win the league this season.

“Am I going daft? Maybe I am, but I don’t think he is finished in the transfer market yet.

“He is a great student of the game. I’m excited for the new season.”

Mourinho has already landed three major names and yet it feels like the marquee signing of the summer is yet to arrive. However, as noise surrounding Pogba refuses to die down, it seems as if the 23-year-old will shatter the world transfer record in the coming weeks.

On top of Pogba, the fourth and final “fundamental signing”, more could follow. Mourinho noted in his first press conference that once he had his four main men, “supplementary signings” could follow later on in the window, most likely after the 53-year-old made a full inspection of his squad.

I can’t wait to see his side in action in the Premier League and it definitely does look like the club have a good shot at taking the title home as Crerand suggests.
