From Italy: Man United close to €125m deal for Paul Pogba

by Sam Peoples

Italian newspaper Gazzetta Dello Sport have gone big on a Paul Pogba story for their Tuesday edition – they say Manchester United have offered €125m and the deal is close to being finalised.

As well as that, they say Gonzalo Higuain is on his way to Juventus for €95m.

Journalist Carlo Laudisa, who works for Gazzetta, repeated these claims on his official Twitter account:

It really feels like the Pogba situation is ready to kick into life any day now. The rumours haven’t died down and they aren’t looking likely to; with Man United set to play our first pre-season game in China on Friday, Mourinho would ideally want things wrapped up and out of the way. With that in mind, we could see some real acceleration this week.

This is the sort of front page United fans have been waiting for. It might not be Gianluca di Marzio reporting it but the murmurings are too loud to ignore – is Pogba really going to sensationally re-join United this summer? Gazetta Dello Sport certainly seems to think so.
