Henrikh Mkhitaryan departs for Manchester United’s 2016 pre-season tour

Henrikh Mkhitaryan joined up with his new Manchester United team-mates to fly out to China on Tuesday for our pre-season tour.

He made his Man United debut in the 2-0 win over Wigan Athletic last week and as it happens will turn out against his former club Borussia Dortmund in his second game before playing Manchester City three days later.

United fans were excited to see Mkhitaryan play against Wigan and even more exciting after how well he played, so there is a real buzz about seeing him turn out versus Dortmund.

Here’s a picture of Mkhitaryan boarding the plane to China:

In the last few years we’ve had some big name arrivals that unfortunately haven’t worked out. Angel di Maria was sold to Paris St Germain while Radamel Falcao was pretty much an abysmal failure, so our track record isn’t too good. Hopefully that changes with Mkhitaryan.

He’s built a reputation as a workhorse and that bodes well for somebody who is set to play under Jose Mourinho in the Premier League. The early indications are positive and having spoken to Dortmund fans about Henrikh, they’re confident he can become our Player of the Season – that’s how confident they are in his ability.

Fingers crossed he can fulfil that potential and if he does take the Premier League by storm who knows, maybe we’ll even mount a title challenge right the way through May.
