Ander Herra claims there were no excuses for Manchester United as they suffered a 4-1 defeat to Borussia Dortmund.
Dortmund opened the game with first-half goals from Gonzalo Castro and the impressive Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Ousmane Dembele netted a fine third finish after the break but Henrikh Mkhitaryan found the back of the net soon after in his unofficial first strike for United.
The game was closed later on after Castro’s superb second effort found the back of the net, seeing Mourinho’s side out with a loss before they face Manchester City on July 25.
United struggled to keep to with Dortmund, but Herrera believes the German club’s extra time to train played a vital role in their victory.

Dortmund have already played four games while United only played against Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium, the result is not important at this stage for Mourinho as his side look to train together and build chemistry.
Mourinho’s side will now face Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City on Monday before flying to Sweden to play Galatasaray, where Zlatan Ibrahimovic is set to wear his Man United shirt for the first time.
While it was a disappointing defeat, United will be looking to build and improve before their Premier League fixture against Bournemouth. The pre-season matches do not mean anything in terms of winning and losing, we all saw how well the tours went under Louis van Gaal and David Moyes only for fans to go through disheartening campaigns.
