Sam Johnstone 5 : Really will not be happy with Borussia Dortmund’s first goal. Poor goalkeeping. Did make a good save to stop Aubameyang. Taken off at half-time.
Antonio Valencia 5 : Bit harsh to have conceded a penalty for something he couldn’t avoid but just going to use this moment to make it clear Valencia shouldn’t play at right-back for us.
Eric Bailly 6 : Not as comfortable in the first half as he was against Wigan, down to the opponent and weather. Came out much stronger in the second, showed his raw pace a few times.
Phil Jones 4 : Was pretty bad in that first half. Come on Phil, need to do better than that to get in Mourinho’s plans.
Luke Shaw 7 : Might have been 37 degrees but bombed it down the left in the first 45 minutes. Continued doing the same in the second.
Ander Herrera 6 : Started sharp, faded a little bit towards the end of the first half but still one of our better performers.
Daley Blind 5 : Played in his natural midfield position, sat deep and a lot of the game actually passed him by. Not sure he looked completely fit.
Juan Mata 6 : Was a bit isolated in the first half, came into it more in the second. Laid on the pass for Mkhitaryan’s goal. Such an unselfish player.
Jesse Lingard 5 : I’d love to know why Lingard side-footed a shot from outside the box in the first half when put clean through. Finishing has always been hit and miss.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan 7 : Up against his old club, Mkhitaryan wasn’t as influential as he was against Wigan. Missed a great chance when put through but
Memphis Depay 4 : Another first half that passed Memphis by. Some poor decisions from him.
Marcus Rashford 6 : Just love watching him. It’s impossible not to. Great dummy for Mkhitaryan’s goal to show his awareness
Ashley Young 4 : Can’t say he did much right or wrong really?
Sergio Romero 5 : Couldn’t stop Dembele’s cracker, didn’t do much else.
Marcos Rojo 3 : He’s an awful defender and needs to be sold.
