James Wilson, Tyler Blackett and Guillermo Varela set to leave Manchester United

James Wilson, Tyler Blackett and Guillermo Varela are set to leave Manchester United as they weren’t provided with a provisional squad number ahead of the new season.

Wilson is allegedly said to be in talks with Fulham over a potential loan move, while Varela has reportedly already agreed for a season-long loan at Eintracht Frankfurt in Germany.

Blackett, who was recently returned from a disappointing loan spell at Celtic, is widely tipped to depart from Old Trafford this summer.

They were notable omissions as Man United provisionally announced the club’s numbers on Thursday afternoon.

Wilson has spent the last three seasons on loan in the Championship with Wigan Athletic, QPR, Sheffield Wednesday and Preston North End after failing to lock down a first-team place at Man United.

With Marcus Rashford and Zlatan Ibrahimovic ready to play up front, Will Keane‘s prospects at the club have also been put into doubt, despite scoring the first goal of Mourinho’s reign last weekend against Wigan.

Varela was very promising under Louis van Gaal and a loan move to Eintracht Frankfurt will be great for him as he’ll struggle to pick up game time at Old Trafford. The announcement shows the players that are likely to depart from the club and it looks like it could be the end of Blackett’s time at Man United.
