Man United transfer roundup including Pogba, Guardiola and Varela

Here is the latest Manchester United transfer news and gossip.

Manchester United have submitted an increased bid of €110m (£92m) plus a further €10m in add-ons to sign Paul Pogba, according to Guardian. The Italian club have been busy in the market and are trying to get the best financial deal possible as they seek to complete the €95m signing of Gonzalo Higuaín from Napoli.

The club have confirmed Guillermo Varela has joined Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt on a one year loan deal.  The Uruguayan defender made his United debut against West Ham last December, and earned a irregular spot in the side under Louis van Gaal after impressing with a series of energetic and disciplined displays at right-back.

Pep Guardiola insists Man United will be a very strong team under Jose Mourinho this season. The Portuguese boss was appointed as manager last month and has already completed deals for Eric Bailly, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Jose Mourinho has revealed how he persuaded new signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic to join United. Ibrahimovic signed a one-year deal with the club earlier this month and is allegedly set to make his debut when the club travel to his homeland, Sweden, to play Galatasaray next week.
