Paul McGuinness reveals Paul Pogba facetimed Adnan Januzaj and Man United players recently

Former Manchester United academy coach Paul McGuinness has revealed Paul Pogba has been in contact with Adnan Januzaj and other members of the first-team.

The 23-year-old begun his career at Man United, joining the club in 2009, before heading to Juventus in 2012 after a disagreement with Sir Alex Ferguson.

However, despite leaving Manchester under gloomy circumstances, Pogba has maintained contact with several United players during his four years in Italy.

Speaking to Sky Sports, McGuinness, who presided over the developmental stages of Pogba’s career, revealed that the Frenchman still FaceTimes several United players.

“I know Paul has fond memories of that time,” McGuinness told Sky Sports.

“Not long ago Adnan Januzaj had him on the phone doing FaceTime and he was chatting to us. He still keeps in touch with the guys from that time. There were a lot of talented players in that group who were pushing him to become a better player every day.”

For some reason, there has always been a prevailing notion that, after what happened in 2012, Pogba vehemently dislikes United. But it is clear that the 23-year-old still maintains a good relationship with the club: earlier this month, he called United his ‘first family’, and is good friends with current players such as Jesse Lingard, Memphis Depay, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Adnan Januzaj and, of course, fellow countrymen Anthony Martial and Morgan Schneiderlin.

If the midfielder does come to Old Trafford, he certainly won’t need to worry about building bridges with new teammates. It is clear that many in the squad know and respect him, and would – just like the supporters – be delighted to see him return to Manchester.
