From Italy: Pogba to have Man United medical in Miami

by Leo Nieboer

Paul Pogba is set to undergo a medical ahead of his move to Manchester United in Miami, according to reports.

Man United are set to break the world transfer record after an estimated bid of £100m was accepted by Juventus, who have used the money to land the signing of Gonzalo Higuain.

It was claimed by Manchester Evening News earlier this week that Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola, had postponed the medical.

But after the issue surrounding which party covers Raiola’s fee was resolved yesterday, the deal is set to be completed within the next 48 hours, with Pogba now set to have his medical in Miami shortly.

It is a relief to see the Pogba deal so close to going through. As United fans discovered with the Pedro saga last summer, transfer stories that go on for too long can unexpectedly grind to a halt. However, unlike the Pedro story, the wheels are now well and truly moving. United fans can expect to see the 23-year-old wearing United colours very soon, four years after he was driven away from Old Trafford, much to the frustration and confusion of fans and players alike.

Pogba will return to United as one of the biggest talents in the modern game. With six major honours already under his belt, the Frenchman will, alongside Mourinho, be seeking even greater things in Manchester over the coming years.
