Zlatan Ibrahimovic completely delivered on his Manchester United debut against Galatasaray and then some.
It only took him three minutes to score but not only did he do that, he did it with a scissor kick. Sure it bounced and went in but he had the sheer audacity to make his first shot for Man United an acrobatic attempt and it went in – that’s the sort of self confidence you can’t teach a player, they either have it or they don’t.
As well as that, Ibrahimovic overall looked pretty sharp given he’d only trained with United for a couple of days. He certainly looked sharper than Wayne Rooney but I’m not sure that’s too difficult, especially at this stage of the pre-season.
Overall, as you can imagine, United fans were blown away by Zlatan’s debut:

But Zlatan's too old though…👀 pic.twitter.com/w5van4ubQp

I think it is that last one which sums it up best – wow. Zlatan absolutely lived up to expectations and blew them out of the water with that goal. While some players struggle in the early days a big move, Zlatan seemed to go about it as just another game.
It’s far too early to use Zlatan’s performance as an indicator of anything but to say it was a strong debut is an understatement and the hype will now only continue to build.
