Galatasaray winger Bruma being watched by Jose Mourinho this season

Galatasaray winger Bruma has revealed Jose Mourinho talked to him after Manchester United’s friendly in Sweden at the weekend and said he’d keep an eye on him this season.

The 21-year-old scored Galatasaray’s second goal to make it six goals in five games for the Turkish side this season and is looking to break his way back into the Portuguese national team. We had Bruma down as our man to watch before the game in Sweden and it proved to be correct because he was certainly a dangerous player, least not with his excellent finish.

Speaking to Portuguese newspaper O Jogo after the match about Mourinho, Bruma said it was good motivation to hear from Jose like that.

“Mourinho told me he was impressed with my performance and that if I continue I will get back into the Portugal national team.

“Of course it was amazing to hear this from Mourinho and he said he will keep an eye on how I do this season.”

In terms of our wingers, the arrival of Henrikh Mkhitaryan has given us a long overdue boost in that area. Anthony Martial stormed it there last season but the majority of fans want to see him return up front where he was so deadly at the start of his United career and we’re still waiting on Memphis Depay to really get his United career off the ground. Others such as Juan Mata, Adnan Januzaj and Jesse Lingard can also play on the wings. So, all in all, we’ve got lots of options at the moment but hardly any guaranteed starters.

Looking ahead to the future, players like Bruma will always be kept on United’s radar and if he has a barnstorming season with Galatasaray out in Turkey then maybe Mourinho will re-kindle that interest and follow up on him.
