Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri has dismissed talks of identifying a Paul Pogba replacement and said he expected the French midfielder to return to training tomorrow.
Pogba’s holiday in USA ended on 6 August and Juventus are currently in London ahead of their pre-season friendly against Juventus, so now is the time where Pogba would usually re-join his team-mates.
However, Pogba is on the verge of completing his move to Manchester United so isn’t expected to join up with Juventus but Allegri sees it differently.
When questioned about him, Allegri said: “Pogba replacement? He is still a Juventus player and I expect to see him in training tomorrow.”
As much as Allegri will want Pogba back at Juventus, the reality is that it’s not going to happen. He’s joining Man United and it should be finalised by next weekend at the absolute latest, although Monday is believed to be the day where it all gets finally done.
The end of the saga will be welcome by all United fans as it’s been a horrible transfer saga but the light at the tunnel with Pogba joining will make it all worthwhile.
