Jose Mourinho believes Manchester United is the perfect club for Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba.
The Frenchman has been continuously linked with a move to Old Trafford, but the club released an official statement on Sunday afternoon claiming he would be completing a medical to finalise his transfer to Man United.
On Monday morning he boarded a plane from Nice heading towards Manchester with Gianluca Di Marzio suggesting he’d complete his medical at Carrington at midday.
Speaking about the deal, Mourinho insists Pogba now has everything in place to become one of the best players in the world.
“I think United is the perfect club to bring him to the level that he wants to be,” he said.
“The Premier League is the perfect habitat for that. If you want to be the best player in the world I think if you go to Barcelona, to Real Madrid you are in trouble because I don’t think the other big guys will let you into that level.
“Here he has the conditions – the most seen championship worldwide which is absolutely incredible, with a team that wants to bring Man United to the top again.
“So we have everything to give him and we know the reasons why he wanted to come to us. Money, he would get from many big clubs so that’s not the point.
“He comes because he knows the club, he knows the city, he knows many of the players, he wants to be an important part of the Man United project so hopefully everything goes well and he comes to our team.”
It’s an incredible signings for Man United and will help get the club back to challenging for titles along with new recruits Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Eric Bailly.
Pogba is a world-class talent and will help inject plenty of threat into Man United’s midfield as they embark on a demanding season in the Premier League and Europa League.
Mourinho has now gone the perfect way about getting his transfers in early this summer and it looks like he finally has everything in place to succeed at Old Trafford.
