Manchester United’s new signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic insists he is just confident in himself and has never been arrogant.

He completed his free transfer to Man United last month as his contract at Paris Saint-Germain expired after four years with the French champions.

Ibrahimovic is set to make his Premier League debut against Bournemouth on Sunday at Dean Court.

Speaking about his actions, Ibrahimovic insists he believes in himself and is not arrogant.

“I’m a normal person,” he said.

“People have the image of me that I’m a bad boy; I’m this and I’m that. People are curious: ‘How is this Zlatan?’

“I’m a family guy. I’m taking care of my family, but when I come on the pitch I’m a lion. That’s the big difference.

“I don’t believe I’m arrogant in the way that people think. I’m confident. I believe in myself. That’s not being arrogant. That’s something I believe is an individual strength in the human being.

“I have confidence and I believe in myself. I have a vision and I do everything. I work hard for it.

“I don’t believe that’s arrogant.”

Ibrahimovic ended his time at PSG as the club’s record goalscorer with 152 goals in 178 appearances, despite only arriving at the Parc des Princes in 2012.

The French side have won Ligue 1 in every season Ibrahimovic was at the club and hopes are he’ll be able to help Man United lift the Premier League title.

He’ll play a vital role for Mourinho’s side this season and if his record-best goal scoring tally last season is anything to go off, fans are set for an extremely exciting season of football.
