Bournemouth 1-3 Manchester United: Player Ratings

by Sam Peoples

David de Gea 6 – Didn’t have much to do because our defence was so solid and Bournemouth’s goal was in the top corner.

Antonio Valencia 8 – Continuing to impress. He now looks up for his crosses and that is making a big difference to them. Really liking Valencia so far under Jose Mourinho.

Eric Bailly 8 – He looks the real deal. What a defender he could turn out to be for Man United – looks like he has the strength of Nemanja Vidic but with a bit more pace and agility.

Daley Blind 7 – This performance was built on a solid defence overall, despite Bournemouth’s goal, and Blind played a key role in that.

Luke Shaw 7 – Getting better with each game and has more runs going forward.

Marouane Fellaini 7 – Didn’t do anything wrong today. Actually thought he played pretty well but when Paul Pogba is fit he’ll go out of the team.

Ander Herrera 7 – Thought he had good link up play bringing the ball wide to Valencia a lot. Few passes were wayward but think he could be excellent alongside Paul Pogba.

Anthony Martial 7 – Looked dangerous throughout. Grabbed himself an assist with a sliced shot too which is always nice.

Juan Mata 7 – Nobody would have thought that the first Premier League goal for United under Mourinho would be scored by the very same player he sold as Chelsea boss to United. It’s poetic. Well done Juan.

Wayne Rooney 4 – Sorry but this United team will never reach its full potential with Rooney in the side.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic 8 – He never looked like he needed to get out of first gear but he scored on his debut. Confident, not arrogant, and he’s making me confident that he’ll score 20+ league goals this season.
