Warren Joyce: More Manchester United players expected to leave on loan

Manchester United’s Under-23 coach Warren Joyce has declared that more players will leave Old Trafford on loan this summer.

Adnan Januzaj and Guillermo Varela have already left the club on a temporary basis, moving to Sunderland and Eintracht Frankfurt respectively.

Jose Mourinho has already decided on his 26-man squad for the 2016/17 season, meaning various youngsters who featured under Louis van Gaal and travelled to China earlier this summer will have to look elsewhere for regular game time.

Speaking to ManUtd.com, Warren Joyce noted that more youngsters will depart on loan during this window.

“I would imagine, over the weeks, a few more will leave on loan,” he said.

“They are ready for those steps and have got to be playing against men to show what they can do and push on from now. Once the window shuts, you know exactly what you’ve got and what your numbers are.”

There are numerous players who have teetered on the fringes of first team selection for some time now, only to narrowly miss out. Axel Tuanzebe, included in Man United’s pre-season tour, earned praise from Mourinho and expressed his desire to break into the first team this season. However, seeing how his enormous physique fares against senior players would be undoubtedly beneficial for for the 18-year-old.

Other names that could make for a temporary exit include James Wilson, Will Keane and Tyler Blackett. All three have received minutes in the first team under Louis van Gaal, but are evidently surplus to requirements in the eyes of Mourinho.
