Paul Pogba enjoys dinner with Jesse Lingard and former Man United player John Cofie

Paul Pogba has been reuniting with old teammates Jesse Lingard and John Cofie after signing for Manchester United last week.

Lingard, Cofie and Pogba spent the fledgling stages of their careers together, and were all part of the side that claimed the FA Youth Cup in 2011.

Whilst Lingard has cemented his status as a first-team member at Old Trafford, Cofie currently plays for Southport.

The Frenchman posted a photo of the three enjoying a meal at Nando’s, stating: “so happy to see my bros again.”

Pogba’s evolution in the past four years has been nothing short of otherworldly: he left for Juventus in 2012 as a skinny teenager, blessed with ability but desperately lacking in self-belief; fast forward to the present day and you see a genuine, internationally recognised superstar, reinventing what it means to be a central midfielder at the ripe age of 23.

And yet here he is, enjoying some fried chicken with his friends in a Manchester restaurant, just like he did as a teenager. Pogba has simultaneously developed into a superstar and remained the same boy who used to wreak havoc against youth sides.

He has renewed manifestly tight bonds with the likes of Lingard and Sam Johnstone, whilst also developing firm relationships with Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Memphis. Needless to say, such immediate kinship with teammates bodes well for when the world’s most expensive footballer makes his long-awaited Old Trafford return.
