Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s flawless start to his Manchester United career continued at Old Trafford on Friday by marking his official home debut with a stunning header.
Southampton started strongly and looked dangerous going forward but it was Ibrahimovic who made all the difference with what was a superb goal.
Zlatan leapt to meet Wayne Rooney‘s cross and Forster had absolutely no chance of stopping it. That’s three goals in three competitive appearances for the big Swedish striker.
He then followed that up with a wonderful penalty to make it 2-0. Four goals in his first three competitive appearances for Man United? Wow, what a start.
So much has been said about Ibrahimovic and Jose Mourinho’s decision to bring him to United but so far he’s smashed expectations completely out of the park. He’s living up to his reputation and then some.
It’s still very early doors for Zlatan at United but if his early exploits are anything to go by then we could be in for a debut season to rival Robin van Persie and we all know how that year ended.
