Nothing pleases Manchester United fans more than pissing off Liverpool and thanks to Michael Owen we’ve got plenty of ammunition this week.
Former Man United striker, who was appointed as Liverpool’s first official ambassador, has backed Jose Mourinho’s side to win the Premier League after a dominant 2-0 win over Southampton.
It looked good on paper and it looks good on grass too. Pogba class. The Premier League title is heading to the North West this season.

Having played for United, Owen achieved more with United than he ever did with Liverpool and that’s clearly rubbed off on a player who really should have loyalty to the club that helped make him.
Imagine it was the other way around – it’s like Andy Cole swooning over Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool and saying this is Liverpool’s year to win the Premier League. There’d be uproar and rightly so.
But with the shoe on the other foot, it’s something to laugh and chuckle about. With United looking strong after a 2-0 win over Southampton and Liverpool struggling following a surprising 2-0 defeat to Burnley, we’ve certainly started the season as the stronger side and everything is set up for our third game against Hull.
At least everybody is behind Liverpool to turn it around, apart from Owen who is backing United. At least he realised the errors of his ways.
