Bastian Schweinsteiger has released an official statement about his Manchester United future.
The German was immediately excluded from Jose Mourinho’s squad upon his arrival at the club and the Portuguese boss has made it clear he is surplus to requirements at Old Trafford.
He has been continuously linked with a move to other clubs although most have been reluctant to match his staggering wage demands.
Schweinsteiger took to social media on Tuesday afternoon to inform fans of his decision to stay at the club.

His determination to stay at Old Trafford is admirable, but he simply doesn’t fit in as a player Mourinho would utilise in his current system.
While many would hope to see him back in action at Man United, it doesn’t look possible with Paul Pogba and Marouane Fellaini showcasing some excellent form recently.
Schweinsteiger’s decision to stay at Man United is very brave to suggest Mourinho won’t be looking to bring him back into the fold any time soon, but should he be given the opportunity to play in September, he should take it with both hands and finally prove himself to the Portuguese boss.
