Hull City vs Manchester United: Potential XI with Jose Mourinho’s summer signings

by Leo Nieboer

As the transfer window approaches its conclusion, numerous clubs are beginning to squabble and scrap over sealing last minute deals.

Jose Mourinho, on the other hand, has landed all four his summer targets ahead of the 2016/17 season through the arrivals of Eric Bailly, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Paul Pogba.

And as United travel to Hull in pursuit of their fourth successive victory under Mourinho, supporters will hope to see an XI containing all four new signings.

Whilst Bailly, Ibrahimovic and Pogba have all walked straight in to the starting XI, Mkhitaryan – last year’s Bundesliga Player of the Year – has had to settle for a bit-part role, appearing towards the end of a game for a short cameo.

But following his performance against Southampton last Friday – a crafty, wizard-like 15 minutes from the right hand side, replete with some wonderful touches and incisive through balls – the Armenian certainly deserves a place in the starting XI ahead of Juan Mata, who would preferably come on in place of Wayne Rooney during the latter stages of the game.

Bailly, Pogba and Ibrahimovic wreaked havoc against the Saints, forming the spine of what was a formidable, swaggering display, and will once again play a key role on Saturday.
