Manchester United have completed the double signing of Alex Fojitcek and Max Johnstone.
Fojitcek has become the first Slovakian to join Man United having come from Tatran Presov and he will go straight into our U18s squad with new coach Kieran McKenna in charge.
Johnstone is also another goalkeeper and brother of United keeper Sam Johnstone so he’ll have plenty of insight into what to expect at United. Sam took to Instagram to congratulate his brother on the move:
Dean Henderson joined Grimsby Town on loan for the season so there will be opportunities for Johnstone and Fojitcek to compete Ilias Moutha-Sebtaoui for the starting spot under McKenna. Joel Castro Pereira leaving on loan means there is also a chance for game time in the U21s.
There has been plenty of change with United’s U18s over the last 12 months and the arrival of these two new goalkeepers is the latest in a string of new arrivals as Nicky Butt continues to overhaul our academy set-up.
