Manchester United’s Antonio Valencia has released a video on social media of his extra preparations for the Manchester derby.
He has made a superb start to life under Mourinho, featuring in all three of the club’s opening games, but returns from international duty just one day before the Manchester City fixture which could pose a real problem if he can’t play given how good his form has been so far.
Valencia has been one of our best performers in the new campaign and hopes are he’ll be fit enough to start against Pep Guardiola’s side. As you can see from this video of Valencia in the gym, he’s working hard to be ready for Saturday.
Valencia, often maligned in recent years, has extremely benefited from the arrival of Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.
He has been racking up assists from his position on the flank and has looked very solid defensively, far more so than in recent years when he’s played in that spot.
Many believed he wouldn’t play a role at Man United again after failed to make a mark on Louis van Gaal‘s side, but along with Marouane Fellaini, he has proven the Portuguese boss can get the absolute best out of his players.
