Teenage prospect Christian Pulisic insists he is a big fan of Manchester United and has been drawing inspiration from Wayne Rooney.
Pulisic fell into the spotlight last season after he became the youngest non-German to score in the Bundesliga and has been attracting interest from a host of European clubs.
He is regarded as one of the best youngsters in the game and was heavily linked with a move to Liverpool in the closing days of the summer transfer window.
However, Jose Mourinho may have a better chance of bringing him to Old Trafford after his latest comments where he has confessed his love for Man United.
“I was a big Manchester United fan when I was younger,” he said.
“I loved to watch Rooney. I wouldn’t say I’m a similar player, though.
“I think his passion for the game is something you don’t see much in players. That’s what I loved about him.”
He made his first start for the United States in Tuesday night’s game against Trinidad and Tobago, making him the youngest player to start in a World Cup qualifier.
After scoring twice as a substitute in last week’s win over St. Vincent and the Grenadines, the youngster was rewarded with his first start in his eighth overall appearance for Jurgen Klinsmann’s team.
The future looks bright for Pulisic and we could even see him in the Premier League with so many clubs interested in his services.
