Paul Pogba believes suffering a 2-1 defeat at the hands of rivals Manchester City will provide Manchester United with a brilliant learning opportunity.
The Frenchman started in a Man United shirt for the third time this season and was hoping to influence a different score to the much-anticipated derby at Old Trafford.
Jose Mourinho and Pep Guariola lined up for the first time during their reign in England and after making some spectacular signings, there were high expectations for the derby as both clubs headed into the fixture with nothing but wins in the league.
After the defeat, Pogba posted a picture from training with a message for fans.
There was plenty to look forward to before the game as all of Mourinho’s new summer signings made it into the starting XI in the Premier League for the first time.
However, the slow start to the game and the lack of energy was not something fans were looking for in one of the biggest fixtures of the campaign.
The loss will mean United now trail three points behind City, but with plenty of time still left to the season, there will be many more opportunities to make up for it.
