Atalanta midfielder Franck Kessie has revealed he would like to play for Manchester United in the future
Kessie, 19, is a talent on the rise in Serie A having broken through into the Atalanta team after a great season on loan at Serie B side Cesena.
This season he has started in blistering form. Despite being a defensive midfielder, he’s scored four goals in his first three games including a brace against Lazio, so there is some serious buzz around him right now.
Speaking about his future he points towards the Premier League as his preferred destination and his favourite club Man United.
“My idols are Yaya Toure and Essien. I was told that I have to work very hard to reach a big level,” Kessie told Sky Italia.
“Now I want to learn Italian tactics but in the future, I like the Premier League. I’d like to play for Manchester United. I don’t know if [Jose] Mourinho will be there, but Manchester United has always been my favourite team.”
When it comes to bringing in teenagers from around Europe, United have always got their scouts watching and finding the best young talents, so we would have already got tabs on Kessie no doubt. After all, you can’t ignore somebody who is scoring that many goals, especially from a more defensive role.
Will he follow in the footsteps of Paul Pogba and make the move to Old Trafford from Serie A? Well, he’s laid his cards on the table by encouraging United to lure him, so the next move is up to the club.
