Mino Raiola explains why Henrikh Mkhitaryan is struggling at Manchester United

Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s agent insists Manchester United have not seen the best from the Armenian because he has not been fully fit.

He was brought to Old Trafford from Borussia Dortmund this summer but was left on the bench by Jose Mourinho for the first three games of the season.

The Portuguese boss was easing him into football at Man United, but his first start against Manchester City was disastrous and resulted in him being substituted off at half-time.

Speaking about his client, Mino Raiola also revealed Man United beat off competition from another Premier League club to sign the Armenian.

“Mkhi was the best player in the German league the last two seasons. He has a strong mentality and will be an asset once fully fit,” he said.

“We had almost agreed with another Premier League club but Dortmund wouldn’t let him go, then United pushed it over the line.”

He picked up a thigh injury while on international duty with Armenia and was rushed back into action prematurely against Pep Guardiola’s side in the Manchester derby.

Mkhitaryan missed the Watford defeat with the same injury and fans are hoping to see him back in action after the club splashed out more than £25m for his signature.
