Jose Mourinho has ruled out Anthony Martial in his press conference ahead of Manchester United’s fixture against Leicester City.
Many believed he could return to action this weekend after he released an update on social media stating he had taken part in training.
He came off at Vicarage Road after he was fouled in the build-up to the hosts’ opener, but had earlier picked up a head injury in a heavy aerial clash.
Speaking in his press conference, Mourinho revealed Martial had suffered contusion in the calf and ankle area.

His availability would have given Mourinho a big boost heading into the fixture, but we’ll have to use either Marcus Rashford or Memphis on the left flank against Leicester.
Martial hasn’t been in the best of form under the new boss, but hopes are his injury is nothing serious as he has a vital role to play at Old Trafford.
This time last year he was dubbed as a waste of money by press and after seeing his development in one year, I’d love to see how he gets on after he finds his feet underneath the Portuguese boss.
