Zlatan Ibrahimovic insists he was expecting much more from his Manchester United team-mates against FC Zorya Luhansk.
The big swede found the only goal of the game after Wayne Rooney provided him with an assist just moments after he was introduced.
In a game of a few clear-cut chances, Jose Mourinho’s side had to do much better to produce a convincing victory over Zorya.
Speaking after the game, Ibrahimovic stated Man United could have done much better.
“It was not an easy game, we played well, created chances but this is a typical game,” he said.
“When you don’t score in the beginning, the spaces get smaller and smaller.
“After the goal, we had more space but it was a decent game, we won and that is what counts after losing against Feyenoord.
“If you want to go through, you need to win the game, we did that. We could have done much more though and I expect much more from the team.”
It’s brilliant to hear Ibrahimovic pushing the rest of his team-mates and trying to get the best out of them.
He’s the only player to feature in all ten of Man United’s games so far this season and has racked up an impressive six goals.
Many believed he would be rested against Zorya as he’ll have a vital role to play against Stoke City, but he has once again shown no signs of deterioration as he enters the latter stages of his career and will be ready for the Premier League clash.
