Ander Herrera: Man United should have scored six or seven against Stoke

Ander Herrera believes Manchester United performed better against Stoke City than they did against Leicester City last weekend.

Jose Mourinhio’s side only managed to pick up one point from the match at Old Trafford despite dominating and creating plenty of chances.

His squad nailed defending champions Leicester City into the ground last week in a 4-1 victory which was one of our most convincing victories since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement.

Speaking after the game, Herrera couldn’t believe Man United didn’t find the win.

“We can’t beleive we didn’t win this game,” he said.

“We played better than Leicester, we created so many chances.

“Their keeper was the best player so I think that says everything, our fans can be proud as we did everything to win and should have scored six or seven goals.

There were plenty of chances created, but the players lacked the end product and failed to convert the early pressure into a goal lead.

Stoke goalkeeper Lee Grant put in a stellar performance and stopped Man United from finding the back of the net on plenty of occasions.

It’s easy to understand why Mourinho and Herrera believe it was one of our best performances of the season, but it’s a game we shouldn’t have dropped points on as Stoke entered the game in woeful for at 19 on the Premier League table.
