Robin van Persie has shared his thoughts on Marcus Rashford‘s spectacular rise at Manchester United.
He broke into the first-team in February against FC Midtjylland after Anthony Martial picked up an injury in the warm-up and has continued to knocked down all expectations of himself since.
The 18-year-old has been tipped to start England’s World Cup Qualifier against Malta at Wembley on Saturday and will be relishing the opportunity after Harry Kane was left sidelined with an injury.
Speaking about Rashford, the Dutchman claims he has a big future ahead.
“Marcus looks like a very special player to me,” he said.
“He has something about him. He’s always playing with pace and good technique, always with his eyes focused on going straight to the goal. A very good player and he has a nice future ahead of him.”
After scoring 58 goals during his time at Old Trafford and firing Sir Alex Ferguson’s side to their 20th Premier League title, Rashford will be delighted with van Persie’s glowing report.
Rashford has a big future ahead, as van Persie suggests and if he’s able to get the ball rolling for England, he may be able to take the Golden Boy award home.
