Timothy Fosu-Mensah set to sign new Manchester United contract

Timothy Fosu-Mensah is set to sign a new Manchester United contract when he returns from the international break, reports The Sun.

With his current contract expiring at the end of the season, securing Fosu-Mensah’s long term future is certainly going to be a priority for Man United and it would be fantastic if there was confirmation of that next week.

Of course, this is not the first time we have heard about Fosu-Mensah signing a new deal. If you remember correctly, reports back in August said that Fosu-Mensah had agreed a four-year contract but there was never an official announcement (unless we completely missed it). Does that mean it has already been done behind closed doors?

Ever since Fosu-Mensah arrived at United’s academy as a raw 16-year-old from Ajax, he stood out for me. He was so well built for his age and he used that powerful, athletic frame to his advantage with dominant performances in both midfield and defence. It’s that exact same style of play which he’s transferred to the first-team and one which fans have taken to straight away.

I hope we can get official confirmation of Fosu-Mensah signing his new deal sooner rather than later because I can see him becoming an integral member of our first-team sooner rather than later.
