Jamie Carragher believes it’s too early write off Manchester United’s title chances this season.
Liverpool host Man United at Anfield on October 17 and despite an impressive start to the season with three straight wins for Jose Mourinho’s side, they have suffered back-to back to Manchester City and Watford, followed by last weekend’s draw with Stoke.
Man United now sit five points behind league leaders City, but there is still plenty of time left to catch up.
Speaking about Man United’s title hopes, Carragher expects Man United to be fighting for the title.
“I still think United will be right up there come the end of the season,” he said.
“The manager has got great experience of winning the Premier League, so I certainly wouldn’t write Manchester United off at such an early stage.
“I think they will be up there fighting for the title.”
After a run of four straight victories in the Premier League, Liverpool will be in hot form heading into the fixture next Monday.
Despite the result against Stoke, Mourinho and many players believed it was one of our best performances of the season, even over the Leicester City clash due to chances created.
It’ll be a close game and Mourinho’s side will be hoping to put their stumble before the international break behind them by claiming all three points against Liverpool.
