Neymar turned down an offer to join Manchester United last summer, according to reports.

Mundo Deportivo claim Manchester United were among four clubs looking to secure his services before he agreed a contract extension with Barcelona in June.

Man United allegedly offered him a bonus of €80m, with €40m as an up-front payment and the remaining €40m to be paid at a later date.

They were also willing to throw in an expensive house in Manchester and were happy to better any offers he had on the table.

His agent revealed a few months ago that Neymar was considering a move to Old Trafford before talks of his extension, but he wanted to stay at Barcelona.

It would have been an outstanding deal but it never went through and it’ll be extremely difficult to lure him away from the Camp Nou after playing with Messi and Suarez up front.

Neymar will join the hundreds of names linked with a club the size of Man United and at 24, he still has an incredible future ahead, unfortunately with Barcelona.
