Matteo Darmian could be stuck at Man United after a lack of serious interest – report

Manchester United may have to wait until next summer to address Matteo Darmian’s future, according to reports.

The club are allegedly facing a difficult situation with a lack of suitors for Darmian and a €40 million price-tag for potential replacement Fabinho.

Recent reports have suggested he could be on his way to Serie A giants Inter Milan, but Goal claim Frank de Boer’s side do not believe Darmian is a top priority.

He was brought to Old Trafford in 2015 by Louis van Gaal and failed to cement his place in the side, but things have only gotten even worse under Jose Mourinho.

Darmian has only made one Europa League appearance this term and has lost his place in the starting XI to in-form Antonio Valencia starting every league game so far at right-back.

Timothy Fosu-Mensah has even jumped ahead of Darmian in the pecking order having been picked for two recent cup matches.

It remains to be seen how his future at Old Trafford will plan out, but it’s a shame that Darmian hasn’t been able to make his mark on the side during his time at the club.
