Jose Mourinho has come to the defence of Paul Pogba after the Frenchman helped Manchester United to an impressive 4-1 victory against Fenerbahce.
Pogba followed up his spectacular penalty with a brilliant finish just before the half-time whistle at Old Trafford.
After being heavily criticised a few days earlier for his performance in the Premier League against Liverpool, Mourinho has urged fans to give him time to adapt to life in England.
“For some of you he goes from the worst player in the Premier League to the best in 48 hours,” he said.
“The reality is that we know he is a very good player and he needs some time to show all of his potential.
“I know Italian football very well and it is completely different to the Premier League. We are different in intensity, the space to play, the number of touches, everything. He needs time to adapt.”
He’s shown his potential once again, but now it’s a matter of finding his feet in the Premier League with a big fixture against Chelsea this weekend.
Pogba is settling into life at Old Trafford very quickly and it’s only a matter of time before he’s tearing rivals to shreds, as he has done tonight against Fenerbahce.
